After many years of studying classical voice and choral music education in the academic setting, I found myself disconnected to my creative voice–my soul’s unique frequency. I was questioning my purpose, my career, and tired of chasing the feeling of success & validation. It was once I began reconnecting to my culture & roots, listening to my body’s cues, creating without expectations, and tuning into my inner worlds when I realized I could embrace every day as a creative act.
I am the artist of my own life.
This led me to develop a holistic vocal pedagogy and creativity coaching praxis to support artists in attuning to their soul’s unique frequency through creative care and artist identity development.

Meet Dr. Kiki
Vocal Liberation + Creative Care Coach
Dr. Kiernan "Kiki" Steiner, D.M.A. (she/they) is a Ilokano-Filipinx vocal liberation and creative care coach who is passionate about the supporting artists in reclaiming creative sovereignty. Dr. Kiki was born, transracially adopted, and raised on Ho-Chunk Nation lands in the rolling hills of Southwestern Wisconsin, which set the stage for her personal journey to find community and healing through music & creativity. Her ancestors are from the Ilocos region in the Philippines, Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, and Switzerland.
In 2021, Dr. Kiki received their doctorate in choral conducting and decolonizing choral music education from Arizona State University where they began to develop a decolonized approach to vocal music teaching practices. Since leaving academia, she has been developing The Voice Doula Praxis, informed by her background as a music educator, birth doula, and sound healer.
Dr. Kiki is here to support artists in developing their creative voices & visions, artist identities, and personal creative frameworks to birth the life of their dreams.
