After many years of studying classical voice and choral music education in the academic & conservatory setting, I found myself disconnected to my creative voice–my soul’s unique frequency. I was questioning my purpose, my career, and tired of chasing success & validation. It was once I began reconnecting to my culture & roots, listening to my body’s cues, creating without expectations, and tuning into my inner worlds when I realized I could embrace every day as a creative act.
This led me to develop a holistic vocal pedagogy and creativity praxis to support artists in attuning to their soul’s unique frequency through vocal & creative care for artistic development.

Calling and Vision
It is my calling to provide inclusive, identity-affirming creative care for artists who want to reclaim creative sovereignty through coaching & education that focuses on the intersection of holistic vocal technique, singing, expression, creative care, identity-affirming birth education & reproductive justice.
My vision is to live in a world liberated from vocal, creative, and sexual shame in order to heal from generations of abuse & violence enacted towards Black & Indigenous people & cultures, women & children, and queer communities.
Meet Dr. Kiki
Vocal Liberation + Creative Care Doula
Dr. Kiernan "Kiki" Steiner, D.M.A. (she/they) is a Ilokano-Filipinx vocal liberation and creative care doula who is passionate about supporting artists in reclaiming creative sovereignty. Dr. Kiki was born, transracially adopted, and raised on Ho-Chunk Nation lands in the rolling hills of Southwestern Wisconsin, which set the stage for her personal journey to find community and healing through music & creativity. Her ancestors are from the Ilocos region in the Philippines, Ireland, England, Wales, and Switzerland.
In 2021, Dr. Kiki received their doctorate in choral conducting and decolonizing choral music education from Arizona State University where they began to develop a holistic approach to vocal music teaching practices. For the past few years, she has been developing The Voice Doula Praxis, informed by her training as a choral conductor, music educator, birth doula, and sound healer.
Located in Springfield, IL, Dr. Kiki supports artists in developing their creative voices & visions, artist identities, and personal creative frameworks to birth the creative life of their dreams.
